Students in teaching and research projects

As part of their studies, students at the chair can gain valuable experience in selected research and industry projects. To this end, the various degree programmes offer different teaching formats, such as team or individual projects in the Master's programme in Mechanical Engineering or internships in the Systems Engineering for Manufacturing programme.
In terms of content, students are integrated into the chair's ongoing research projects. Students who want to gain practical experience in areas such as the design and implementation of production systems, data exchange throughout the life cycle of production systems, or the integration of humans and machines should follow the steps below.

  1. The first step is to clarify what knowledge the students would like to acquire and in which research projects this knowledge is relevant.
  2. The second step is to decide in which form of course the integration into the programme can take place. Here, students should once again consult their module handbook.
  3. In the third step, one of the lecturers or one of the project managers (preferably both) at the chair should be contacted and the idea of knowledge acquisition presented. They can then decide whether integration into the project is possible.

Students who have already successfully participated in research projects as part of their studies can be employed as research assistants at the chair.
