Research at the Chair of Production Systems and Automation focuses on production systems and their efficient design, management and automation. The activities are supplemented by new aspects arising from current technological developments and requirements of manufacturing companies. In addition to digitalisation, these also include the topics of sustainability and risk management.

We are active in basic research and think ahead to future problems and solutions. In our research projects, we bring existing knowledge into application and advise companies on the path to Industry 4.0.

As a partner for science and industry, we perform application-oriented research work and enable operational actors of the industrial middle class to access the current state of knowledge on the basis of joint projects.
