Construction and investigation of the so-called ‘digital twin’ for an additive production process
PhD Supervisor: Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Arndt Lüder
Additive manufacturing (3D printing) has a high degree of digitalisation due to the technology, which provides an ideal basis for in-depth investigations into product quality or system maintenance, for example. However, the prerequisites for these analyses are both sufficient availability of information and an understanding of the semantics of the available information. The aim of the work is to develop and investigate the so-called ‘digital twin’ for an additive production process in order to optimise processes, products and services within the value chain. This should result in a methodology that is not only suitable for the present use case, but also offers general applicability for other technologies in its basic features.
