Device architectures for powerful Industry 4.0 applications

An important driver of the 4th Industrial Revolution is the increasing digitalisation of production systems. However, this digitalisation requires that the automation devices used in the production systems implement appropriate options for information processing and communication. The aims of the doctorate are the development of a generic software architecture for automation devices that fulfils all the requirements of an Industry 4.0 component and its prototypical implementation.
